Content agreement
Ownership, platform license, translations, and adaptation deals.
Ownership
You own your original work. Publishing on Vilomedia does not transfer copyright to us by default.
Non-exclusive license to Vilomedia
By publishing, you grant Vilo Media Group FZCO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-bearing-as-applicable license to store, stream, display, transcode, cache, promote, and otherwise operate Vilomedia with your work (including covers, chapter text/images, and metadata) for as long as the work remains on the platform or as needed for backups, safety, and legal retention.
This license is not an assignment of your IP. You may publish elsewhere unless a separate written deal says otherwise.
Originals & anime adaptations
For Vilomedia originals and anime adaptations, any exclusive rights, options, or IP shares we take are only those you agree to in a separate written agreement. Nothing in this Content Agreement silently assigns those rights.
Fan translations
Approved fan translations are free to read for audiences. They do not transfer the underlying creator’s IP.
When a translated work earns platform ad revenue, the default split is:
- 20% - translator (compensation for translation work)
- 70% - original creator
- 10% - Vilomedia / platform
AI ban
AI/SI-generated creative publishing is prohibited under this agreement and the Community Guidelines.
Takedowns
We remove content that infringes rights, violates Guidelines, or is required by law. Repeat infringers may lose publishing privileges.
